GIS Masters from a private or state university?

I'm wondering what has more leverage. Getting a masters from a reputable institution or working at a place with a reputable reputation? Will it make a difference to get a masters in GIS from a state university or a small private university? How does it look for prospective employers when they look at my resume? Or will they care more that I work for Lockheed Martin as oppose to where I got my masters from?
