Took my industrial out i cant get it back in?

I've had my industrial for about 7 months, ive changed it and take it out to clean it with no problems but the other day i had an MRI and i had to take out all my piercings. it was out for about a day now I'm trying to get it back in and it just wont. i used abut an 18 gauge to see if it was closed all the way and that went in fine, unfortunately i don't have any other sizes other than the 14 barbel that is supposed to be in, anyone have some tricks to get it in or do i have to get it re-pierced?
